One Talk T41S\/SW, T42S \x26 T46S\/SW IP Desk Phones <\/div><\/span> View \/ Reply to a Text Message (SMS)<\/div><\/h1>

Follow these instructions to view and respond to text messages received on your One Talk T4xS series IP desk phone.<\/div><\/div>

Before you begin<\/div><\/h2>

Text messaging is disabled by default and doesn\x27t appear in the Message screen unless enabled, and can only be enabled on One Talk lines that don\x27t have a smartphone as a primary device.<\/div><\/div>

If two desk phones are configured on the same line, messages are delivered to only one of the desk phones. It\x27s recommended to enable the text messaging feature on only one desk phone per line.<\/div><\/div>

If a line is being shared by a desk phone and other endpoints (e.g., Mobile App, Desktop app), all endpoints receive incoming messages. However, messages sent from a desk phone won\x27t appear as outgoing messages on the other endpoints.<\/div><\/div>

Desk phones only support SMS; MMS isn\x27t supported. If a picture \/ video message is sent to a desk phone line, any media in the message is removed and only the accompanying text displays.<\/div><\/div>

The desk phone can store up to 50 text messages across all folders. When the phone reaches 50 messages, the user is notified that the mailbox is full and messages should be deleted. If the user does nothing, when a new message is received the oldest message is deleted automatically.<\/div><\/div>

Maximum character count per message is 500 for T41S\/SW and T42S, and 918 for T46S\/SW models. When the maximum character count is reached, any additional text is truncated.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Do one of the following:<\/div><\/span>
To view a new message immediately as it\x27s received, tap
View<\/div><\/span> at the notification prompt.<\/div><\/li>
To view messages from the main menu:
From the idle screen, navigate:

Select
Inbox<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
Highlight the desired message then press
View<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol><\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>
To reply to a received message, press
Reply<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span>
Messages can also be deleted from this screen or from the Inbox by pressing
Delete<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>
Enter the message text then press
Send<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Enter the destination address in the To field then press
