Follow these steps to easily capture videos on your Apple®<\/span> iPad®<\/span> and send them to friends or family, helping you share moments in real time.<\/div><\/div>

Before you begin<\/div><\/h2>
To send a picture that you\x27ve already taken on your Apple®<\/span> iPad®<\/span>, refer to Take and Send a Picture via Messaging<\/a>.<\/div><\/section><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Steps<\/div><\/h2>
Open the
Messages app<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Tap the
New Message icon<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
From the To field, enter a 10\u002Ddigit mobile number or a contact name.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
From the Text Message field, enter a message.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
If necessary, tap the
Add icon<\/div><\/span> then tap
Camera<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
From the camera mode options section located along the right side, swipe down to choose
Video<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Aim then tap the
Record icon<\/div><\/span> to begin recording.<\/div><\/span>

Alternatively, press either
Volume button<\/div><\/span> located on the left edge of the device.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>
When finished recording, tap the
Stop icon<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Tap
Done<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span>

To discard and record a new video, tap
Retake<\/div><\/span> then repeat step 7.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>
