Software Upgrade \/ Repair Assistant (Motorola) \u002D Software Update<\/div><\/h1>
Here\x27s how to use the Software Upgrade Assistant to update the software on your Motorola device made after 8\/20\/2013.<\/div><\/div>

This helps you update the software on your Motorola device using your PC or Mac, in the event an Over\u002Dthe\u002DAir (OTA) software update fails.<\/div><\/div>
To perform the steps below, a data cable or adapter is required and may not be included in\u002Dbox for all devices.
A data cable can be purchased from any ɧ��Ƶ Wireless retail store<\/a> or at the online store<\/a>.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>
Ensure the wireless device is powered on, unlocked (if device lock\u002Denabled), and connected to a computer using a compatible USB cable.<\/div><\/li>
The most recent software version becomes available on the SUA\/SRA tool within a week of a new software update. During this time, the SUA\/SRA is unavailable for usage.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/div>
The software update process may take up to 30\u002D90 minutes. Do not disconnect the device from the computer during the upgrade process.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section><\/div>

The following steps are used when the auto\u002Dupdate check is enabled.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section>
Ensure the Software Upgrade Assistant (SUA) software is installed.<\/div><\/span>

Refer to Initial Setup \u002D Software Upgrade \/ Repair Assistant<\/a> for assistance.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>
Ensure the wireless device is powered on, unlocked, and connected to a computer using a compatible USB cable.

From the device, swipe down on the status bar (located at the top), tap the USB connection entry, then tap
Software Installation mode<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
If an update is available, a pop\u002Dup is presented on the taskbar. Click the pop\u002Dup to launch the SUA.<\/div><\/span>

If the pop\u002Dup doesn\x27t appear, right\u002Dclick the
Software Upgrade Assistant tray icon<\/div><\/span> $\x22SUA$ to launch the Software Upgrade Assistant tool.<\/div><\/div>

From the SUA, click
UPDATE SOFTWARE<\/div><\/span> (located on the lower\u002Dright).

When the software upgrade process has completed, click
Done<\/div><\/span> (lower\u002Dright) and disconnect your device.

If the update fails to install or the device is up\u002Dto\u002Ddate, click
RESTORE DEVICE<\/div><\/span>.
$\x22Restore$ <\/div> <\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
On the Restore Device screen, select whether to erase or keep the device data then click
CONTINUE<\/div><\/span>.
$\x22Keep$ <\/div> <\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
When the restoration process is complete, click
Done<\/div><\/span> and disconnect your device.

From the SUA, click
UPDATE SOFTWARE<\/div><\/span> (located on the lower\u002Dright).<\/div><\/span>

If \x22Hold on...\x22 is selected, the SUA gives instructions on how to remove the Google account from the device.<\/div><\/div>
