Whether you\x27re letting someone borrow your Apple®<\/span> iPad®<\/span> or need to concentrate, configuring Guided Access allows you to limit your device to a single application.<\/div><\/div>

Before you begin<\/div><\/h2>
Guided Access lets you disable non\u002Dessential areas of the screen and locks the Home, Power, and Volume buttons to prevent accidental interruption.<\/div><\/div>
Ensure Guided Access is turned on<\/a> before completing the steps below.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Use Guided Access<\/div><\/h2>
  1. Open an app, then triple\u002Dpress the
    Home button<\/div><\/span> or
    Top Button<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
  2. Using your finger, circle areas of the screen to disable.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
  3. Tap
    Options<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
  4. Tap any of the available switches (e.g., Sleep \/ Wake Button, Keyboards, etc.) to turn the following on or off then tap
    Done<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
  5. Tap
    Start<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
  6. If prompted to set a passcode, enter a passcode then re\u002Denter it.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol><\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

    End Guided Access Session \/ Remove Restrictions<\/div><\/h2>
    1. Do one of the following:<\/div><\/span>
      • To end a session, triple press the
        Home button<\/div><\/span> or
        Top Button<\/div><\/span>, enter the passcode then tap
        End<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
      • To remove previously set restrictions from an active session:
        1. Quickly triple\u002Dpress the
          Home button<\/div><\/span> or
          Top Button<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
        2. Enter the passcode.<\/div><\/li>
        3. Tap the
          X symbol<\/div><\/span> next to any areas of the screen that have been disabled.<\/div><\/li>
        4. Tap
          Session Settings<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
        5. Ensure the desired option switches are turned on.<\/div><\/li>
        6. Tap
