One Talk Portal <\/div><\/span> Configure Busy Lamp Field (BLF)<\/div><\/h1>
To quickly see if a monitored line is busy, idle, or ringing, configure the Busy Lamp Field (BLF). This helps you monitor key users\x27 availability directly from your One Talk desk phone.<\/div><\/div>

Steps<\/div><\/h2>
  1. To enable monitoring on the desk phone, from the \x27Associated devices\x27 tab, click the
    Enable monitoring switch<\/div><\/span> to turn on.<\/div><\/span>
    To see compatible equipment, click
    See phone model recommendations<\/div><\/span> to the left of the Configure Line(s) to Monitor button.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol><\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

    Desk Phone \u002D Line Status Indicators<\/div><\/h2>
    Once enabled, the desk phone needs to reboot to pick up the configuration change. The reboot is automatic.<\/div><\/div>
    Once BLF is enabled, the desk phone displays line status for monitored lines using different light sequences on the line keys. Below is a description of the line status LEDs:
    • Green<\/div><\/b>: Monitored user is idle.<\/div><\/li>
    • Steady red<\/div><\/b>: Monitored user is on the phone.<\/div><\/li>
    • Blinking red<\/div><\/b>: Monitored user has an incoming call.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

      Once BLF is enabled, the desk phone needs to reboot to pick up the configuration change. The reboot is automatic.<\/div><\/div>
      When the monitored line receives an incoming call, the LED flashes on the desk phone as described above; additionally the user is presented with the following:
      • Audio<\/div><\/b>: There is also an audible single beep indicating a call on the monitored line.<\/div><\/li>
      • Visual indication<\/div><\/b>: Visible on the idle screen and displays the monitored line and Caller ID for the caller.

      • The admin monitoring the line has the option to answer the call on behalf of the intended end user. When answering a monitored line, the desk phone displays the FAC code and extension used for directed call pick up with barge\u002Din.
