Satellite Connectivity <\/div><\/span> Request Roadside Assistance via Satellite (Apple)<\/div><\/h1>

When outside of cellular coverage area, you can request roadside assistance on your Apple®<\/span> iPhone®<\/span> using Satellite SOS services.<\/div><\/div>

Before you begin<\/div><\/h2>

To use Satellite SOS, the following requirements must be met:

Must be outside with a clear line of sight to the satellite.<\/div><\/li>

Satellite Messaging capable device.<\/div><\/li>

Active service with cellular data turned on.<\/div><\/li>

Satellite messaging won\x27t work if the device is in Airplane Mode.<\/div><\/li>

Must be in the contiguous United States or Hawaii and Alaska (may not work in parts of Alaska).<\/div><\/li>

Requires iPhone 14 or newer and iOS 18 or newer.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Steps<\/div><\/h2>

Open the Connection Assistant by doing one of the following:<\/div><\/span>
To open via Control Center:
Swipe down from the top right corner of the iPhone to open Control Center.<\/div><\/li>
Tap the
Cellular button<\/div><\/span> on the right.<\/div><\/li>
Tap
Satellite<\/div><\/span>. <\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol> <\/div><\/li>
To open via Settings:
Open
Settings<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
Tap
Satellite<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol> <\/div><\/li>
To open via Messages app:
While outside of a coverage area, tap the prompt to use
Use Messages via Satellite<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
Tap the prompt then tap the
Dynamic Island<\/div><\/span> again to open
Connection Assistant<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol> <\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/li>
Follow the onscreen instructions to connect to a satellite connection.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Tap
Roadside Assistance<\/div><\/span> to request help for the vehicle. <\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
