Learning to use FaceTime®<\/span> lets you easily connect with friends and family via video or audio calls. It\x27s a convenient way to stay in touch directly from your Apple®<\/span> iPad®<\/span>.<\/div><\/div>

Before you begin<\/div><\/h2>

If you can\x27t turn on or sign in to FaceTime, it may take up to 24 hours to activate on your device.<\/div><\/div>
The FaceTime app must be turned on<\/a> in order to place or accept a Facetime call on your iPad.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Place a FaceTime Call<\/div><\/h2>
Open the
FaceTime app<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Tap
New<\/div><\/span> then do one of the following:<\/div><\/span>
Enter the name, email address or number then tap
Search<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
To access contacts, tap the
Plus icon<\/div><\/span> then select the desired contact.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/li>
Select the FaceTime call option:<\/div><\/span>
To place an audio call, tap the
Phone Icon<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
To place a video call, tap
FaceTime<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/li>
To end the video or audio Facetime session, tap the
X icon<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol><\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Accept a Request<\/div><\/h2>
When receiving a FaceTime request, perform one of the following actions:<\/div><\/span>
When the iPad is locked, tap the
Phone icon<\/div><\/span> then slide to answer.<\/div><\/li>
When the iPad is unlocked, tap \x27Join\x27 or the \x27Video icon\x27.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/li>
To end the video or audio Facetime session, tap the
X icon<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol><\/div> <\/div> <\/div> <\/div>
