Apple iPad <\/div><\/span> Erase All Content and Settings<\/div><\/h1>

Reset your Apple®<\/span> iPad®<\/span> to factory settings as a final troubleshooting step, or an easy way to erase your data if you\x27re upgrading or trading your device in.<\/div><\/div>

Before you begin<\/div><\/h2>

Advanced troubleshooting and configuration should be handled by Apple<\/a>.<\/div><\/div>

Erase all content and settings only if necessary as it removes your email accounts and all data including system data and app data and media. Music, pictures and videos can be backed up via the ³Õ±ð°ù¾±³ú´Ç²ÔÌý°ä±ô´Ç³Ü»å<\/a> and iCloud®<\/span><\/a>.<\/div><\/div>

To ensure the Activation Lock<\/a> is removed, sign out of Apple ID<\/a>.<\/div><\/div>

If you are signed in to your Apple ID on another device (known as a \x27trusted\x27 device), you may be required to enter a verification code<\/a> sent to that trusted device upon reactivation.<\/div><\/div>

Steps<\/div><\/h2>

Open the
Settings app<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Navigate:
General<\/div><\/span>
Transfer or Reset iPad<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span>
An alternate method<\/a> (restore via iTunes) is available if the device is unresponsive or won\x27t power on.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/li>
Tap
Erase All Content and Settings<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
If prompted, review the Erase This iPad screen, then tap
Continue<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
If applicable, enter the Apple ID password then tap
Turn Off<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
Tap
Erase iPad<\/div><\/span> and if using an iPad activated with an embedded SIM (eSIM), from the Erase iPad pop\u002Dup, tap one of the following:<\/div><\/span>
Cancel<\/div><\/li>
Keep eSIM and Erase Data
Erases all of your data, but keeps your eSIM profile and Cellular Data Plan.<\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/li>
Delete eSIM and Erase Data

To confirm, tap
