If your Apple®<\/span> iPhone®<\/span> or iPad®<\/span> isn\x27t charging properly or the battery isn\x27t lasting, learning how to troubleshoot can resolve common problems and extend its usability.<\/div><\/div>

Before you begin<\/div><\/h2>
Ensure the device is properly connected to an Apple\u002Dapproved adapter \/ charger and a valid power source (preferably an AC adapter and not a car charger). For help identifying approved chargers, check out this Apple Support article<\/a>. <\/div><\/div>
Ensure the charging port contains no water damage or corrosion. Water damage is not covered under warranty.<\/div><\/div>
Check the charging port for bent or broken pins. Physical damage is not covered under warranty. <\/div><\/div> <\/div><\/section><\/div> <\/div> <\/div>

Steps<\/div><\/h2>
  1. Verify that the device and charger display the appropriate charging \/ LED indicator.<\/div><\/span>
    • If the battery level is extremely low, the display may remain blank for up to 5 minutes before a low battery image appears.<\/div><\/li>
    • If the device displays a low battery image, it may take up to 20 minutes before the device powers up.<\/div><\/li>
    • A battery that is completely drained should be charged for a minimum of 15\u002D20 minutes.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ul><\/div><\/li>
    • Press and hold the
      Power button<\/div><\/span> for 3\u002D5 seconds to verify your Apple device doesn\x27t power on.<\/div><\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • If the device doesn\x27t respond, try these steps:<\/div><\/span>
      • For devices with a Home button, press and hold the
        Power button<\/div><\/span> and
        Home button<\/div><\/span> for approximately 10 seconds then release.<\/div><\/li>
      • For devices without a Home button:
        1. Press and quickly release the
          Volume up button<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
        2. Press and quickly release the
          Volume down button<\/div><\/span>.<\/div><\/li>
        3. Press and hold the
          Power button<\/div><\/span> for approximately 10 seconds then release until you see the Apple logo.<\/div><\/li><\/div><\/ol> <\/div><\/li>
